This 10th edition contains virgins, pregnancies, marriages, runaways, a riddle, a curse, cats, birds and horses, ancestors and lots of older women. I don't know why - I just work here. But besides that, it has:
- Simple, uncluttered "Down Sheets" - Last year I pasted tiny pictures to match the Zany (and sometimes serious) Holidays. It felt crowded and many didn't print well. This year, the downsheets are mostly blank, for the benefit of those who actually use it for appointment reminders. One friend writes on sticky notes and sticks them to the calendar! This cleaner format allows the pattern of the moon phases to be more prominent. Each moon phase lasts about one week, and that is clearly evident now.
- Lunar and Solar eclipses are marked. Mercury Retrograde and Direct are also marked, by the symbol of the winged foot of Hermes Trismegistus.

AI-generated images always strike me as cold and somewhat sterile. You won't find them here. All these images are compiled into collage by the intuitively-driven Organic Intelligence of an Earthling. I have even begun to appreciate the flaws and imperfections that confirm their distinctly human quality.
Sunday through Saturday format
Last year I tried the "school calendar" format, which was laid out Monday to Sunday. I found it confusing to use, so I've gone back to Old School format..because, there's no school like old school.

This is where I divulge the origins of many of the images. I've always relied on the Pre-Raphaelites and vintage illustrators like Rackham and Dulac. Picasso is quoted as saying "Good artists copy, great artists steal." Igor Stravinsky and T.S. Eliot said the same, and even Shakespeare stole plot lines and scenes from other writers. Most of the images I use are from the public domain, but I'll admit that in a few cases I fell in with the club of thieves.

After a 20 year career in community-based Public Health education and independent research into the mysteries of the female reproductive cycle, this calendar came into existence to help women recall the genius gift of our ancestral Grandmothers: a nature-based, non-toxic method for training the unruly cycle.
"Menstruation is naturally reckoned by women, in every part of the world. by the changes in the moon." - wrote Robert Briffault, in his book, "The Mothers - The Matriarchal Theory of Social Origins", published 1927. The moon's phases are signals to our fertility, and once we understand this 'lunar language', we can use it to regulate our cycles, making them more predictable. When we have entrained our cycles to that Clock in the Sky (a phenomenon technically known as Lunar Menstrual Locking), we can more easily and accurately forecast the menstrual period, allowing us to clear other obligations out of our schedules, and plan a day (or two, even?) for simply pampering ourselves. A Hot Springs Day, a Nap Day, a Do Nothing Day...we can really benefit from this restorative interval.
MoonTiming neither prevents pregnancy nor guarantees it. But whatever your reproductive health goals are, regulating the cycle is a great help in achieving them.
And to think you can do all this by simply starting to watch the FULL Moon, and telling yourself: right now, women all over the world are ovulating, and will be menstruating in two weeks. This is my time to ovulate. I embrace this signal. It may take some months, or happen almost immediately. This is how you align, by invoking the Quantum field - As Within,So Without, As Above, So Below.The Universe favors harmony and thus supports the entrainment of the cycle to that of the moon's synodic cycle, known as a Lunation ( the orbit that results in the changing moon phases).
Workshops Available!
I have given workshops at the Latina Health Summit, the Women of Color Conference on HIV and AIDS, Lake Middle School, Mile High Mental Health Center, Sisters of Color United for Education, and other venues. It is so much fun exploring the social anthropology, etymology, astronomy and mythology that surrounds the cycle, and absolutely amazing to see how women open up, responding to shifting the perspectives on the cycle in a space where our privacy is protected. It might be called "What No One Ever Told You about the Menstrual Cycle".
I am enthusiastic about inter-generational groups for all the women in the family. This is how we restore the atmosphere of the Moon Lodge and help all the girls survive puberty and adolescence, with loving support from community.
My inter-active curriculum for tween and teens girls was nominated for a national award in Sexuality Health Education by Girls, Inc.
